Depending on the area of law, law school, etc. it's a very busy market. If you are in corporate, L&E and IP, with top 20 law school contact a recruiter. It should happen fairly quickly, a month or 2.

If you're looking to lateral, what type of firm/practice/geography? I recently left my firm but on good terms and actually liked it, just didn't want to pass on an opportunity that came up. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions or want me to refer you.

I am an senior associate at a small (8-10 attorneys) immigration firm in NYC. My base is 110k and I get 30% for the cases and clients I bring in. My revenue was 370k last year and I did 250k till April this year.

My issue is, I have so much firm's work that I have hard time to work on my cases/clients. It feels like my cases are supposed to be done after hours (like after 6 pm). My work hours are crazy. I feel this is unfair and since my firm's taking 70% of my sales. Should I ask for a raise?

I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Both are more than I’ve ever made (Denver, 17 yrs of experience but completely different practice areas). Any tips for countering the $130k offer for more using the other potential offer while not risking a complete withdrawal of the current offer? I’ve never been in a position to bargain my starting salary so this is all very new to me.
