Hi Fishes, I am here to ask your help , i gave an interview to Tata Capital and selected for the position but the HR is not contact me about the salary negotiation or anything. I was called the HR and they said they didn't receive manpower approval. I have hardly 5 days left to join the new organization. What can I do ? Now the hr is not lifting the call as well as the interviewer also not lifting the call.

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

You take the call and go through the recruiting process.
If you don't plan to interview with the MBB, I would just send a polite email that you have accepted another offer but would love to stay in contact down the road.
Did you join yet? If not you can tell the recruiter that you have an offer at hand so that they move faster. Neg the other offer.
@BC1 - that's probably what I'll do and hopefully keep the connection
That's like saying once you've joined a company, you should never leave. That's silly. If I find a better job offer, I'll take it.
Accepted but haven't joined yet
I think you should give it a shot, if you get thru your exit opps will be substantially better.
I will say, go for it. Do not decline.
Why is it unethical? Right to work.
You are optimistic that they will still be looking when you are ready to move. Go through the recruiting process and then make a decision after you get the offer. If nothing else you will learn a lot because the MBB recruiting process is vastly different than the Big 4 process.
OP-can you share your profile?
It's unethical to interview elsewhere after accepting an offer. Consulting is a small community - don't burn bridges! Stay in touch with them - work for a year or 2, and try to MBB after. MBBs will appreciate the honesty down the lane and you have a good story to tell.
ZS - I believe offers for MBB is not going to wait or may not come around. 2 yrs is a long time..
I feel it's unethical because if you have accepted an offer, you have committed yourself. This means you won't look around. It's like being engaged and still looking out if a super model comes by ...
Never say never B2. I guess we have different definitions of ethics..
By the way - in that case, it should be acceptable for the company to retract their offer should they find a better fit a month later..
ZS - as they say, love your job not your company. Companies do not care, they delay joinings and have retracted job offers. Just FYI.
@EY1 - good point but as long as you feel it's acceptable for companies to do that. I don't think it is..
You will definitely be in the wrong if you look at it from ethical lens. But let's face it this is business, bottom line always trumps ethics. I am a strong believer you need run your career like a business, being ethical right might not always be what's best for you.
