Right now, super heavy. It's just crazy. But I promise there are slower periods. Just not lately.

It’s insanely busy these days. Also way more responsibility and autonomy than I expected. I run my own (small) deals as a 2nd year.

Likewise - was not anticipating this much latitude and responsibility but wasn’t sure whether that was just my firm and group or was common for those in the practice.

Let’s say you’re the main character of some action movie. Think military / Jason Bourne / Ethan Hunt type of guy. You’re only bringing one watch with you on your mission across the world. Streets of Paris, African jungles, Southeast Asia, and wherever else the mission takes you. What watch you wearing?

I find myself questioning basic politeness I’ve learned since a child. Wondering what everyone else thinks. I work with an associate. She’s great. When she does good work or something I’ve asked her to do, I, of course, say “thank you!” I don’t really expect a response. She always replies “you’re welcome!” Or some variation. And for some reason, that’s awkward. Is it just me? I know in normal manners, that is the right response. Why does it sit funny?

I have a somewhat unsteady, gappy work history due to several health issues — serious ones — that have gotten in the way since I passed the bar. My first major health issue I can easily explain as it’s physical, a major concussion. My other health issues are severe depression that affected my ability to work steadily. I am better finally, and ready to get back to work, but I don’t know how to explain this or even approach this during interviews/resume writing.

Anyone have any helpful advice?
