Had my annual review earlier today and I’m not happy with the raise and bonus offered. Aside from the managing partner, there were several other non-equity partners in the room and I didn’t feel comfortable negotiating in front of everyone. I’d rather speak to the managing partner alone as he’s the only one who has the ability to make decisions. Does anyone work at a firm that does not offer year-end bonuses? I’m currently at a 25-50 person firm in a major market (CA) that mostly operates on big contingency cases.
