Am I using the money I get paid to live and do things I enjoy? Yes?
I mean using my resources to turn my passion project into a full time career. I’m looking for something with a good WLB so I can invest a little more in the side hustle
I produce music and DJ at clubs on the weekends, hopefully someday it can make enough to sustain my lifestyle but honestly there is something to be said about the pro’s of being able to chase a dream in film/entertainment/music without the worry of money. I know of other producers who if they don’t pump out good songs they won’t be able to pay their rent. That pressure might work for a few people, but IMO it’s bad for creativity and often times people like that burn out and quit chasing their dream. And then they have no money, no high paying corporate job, and no dream to enjoy/chase.
Keep your corporate job and continue to push for that on the side. Look at John Summit, he was an accountant at EY before his career took off
McKinsey & Company 1
Currently leveraging my current position to hopefully start a creative agency/production company. Used my time on the bench and low project inventory to finish my first mini doc (a few weeks to clean the edit, am staffed now)
That’s lovely! You motivate me to start sooner rather than later. Good luck!
Personally trying to build a non-profit one day. Using MBB to teach me the skills of how to do so.
Hope it pays off soon
I don’t have very many needs and content with what I have. So I guess already living the dream?
That’s great! I’d love to turn my passion project into a career, so I’d love a job with a better WLB to be invest more into it.
I am, saving some money, trying to abit of real estate as a safety net and then move on to something with big potential and that I’m passionate about (don’t know what though)
That’s awesome! I’m in the same boat. Just want some good seed money and time to let it play out. I have no idea where to start though!
