Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! What other creative support will be there for backup in case anything does happen? Just you and your partner or will you have a CD too? Are you the CW or AD? Is it overseas?
Obv you should always put your health and the baby first. To take the pressure off, make sure you have creative support to cover you in case absolutely anything requires you to take time out. You could also ask in the Production bowl for their pov and suggestions. They’re always very helpful over there.

Still discussing any extra support as we’re approaching pre-production but we’re ACD level (I’m AD) and most likely will just be us. But will def float the question on adding a support AD since it’s a beast of a shoot.
Jury is still out on if it’s overseas or not but most likely in the states. Very close with my producer personally and at work so we’re def staying close on this as we’re talking to directors.
Will def reach out to the production bowl! Thanks for the suggestion!
I missed my super shoot! I was on mat leave w my first one. I almost broke my mat leave to go (absolutely insane). Today ( a year later ) I still have the piece in my book and I enjoy my baby. No regrets at all, it’s even crazy to hesitate… but I was there and understand! Just rest mama :)
I’ll only be 30 weeks when the shoot starts so not gonna start my mat leave that early.
Where is the shoot? Heaven forbid, you go into labor early and baby needs the NICU, you may have to do an extended stay where you delivered. My OB had me stop traveling at 28 weeks for that reason.
Still figuring out location but it is def something my producers and I are staying close on as we’re discussing directors and getting into pre production.
I already brought it up to my OB and she said drop dead stop travel is 36 weeks for her. And based off my previous pregnancy and my current health of this one she’s totally fine with it. She’s gonna write me a doctors note as well.
I did a big shoot w celeb at 36-38 weeks pregnant. Happy to chat.
I got an ergonomic chair with foot rest so I could put my feet up so they wouldn’t swell and so I could get up and down easier. I would also make sure there is a medic in the bid for pre light / shoot days. Wear compression stockings if your dr approves to avoid edema. Make sure your dietary restrictions are outlined in advance with catering and crafty.
Also, don’t fly and cap the local travel at 2-3 hours.
Happy to dm w you!
I did a big shoot in a country a ten hour flight away at 31 weeks. I felt fine and had no health concerns so my OB was cool with it too. It went great! I looked up the nearest hospital with a maternity wing just in case. Came home at 33 weeks and was able to finish out most of the edit before taking mat leave.
Thanks for this! Im hoping this is how it’ll pan out for me as well. It’s in that weird phase currently of almost in pre production so dates are slightly in flux so trying not to jump the gun while also recognizing that it could be totally fine and early/mid 3rd tri or could be cutting it close to full term haha.
A question you need to ask yourself honestly. Is your director decision and location going to be based on what is best for the production or what works best to accommodate you? Many non pregnant people get stomach ailments when in foreign countries. Also make sure to consider the altitude. i.e., Bogota, Mexico City. From agency what accommodations would you expect? If you point out or ask for too much, they may say its a liability for you to go.
apologies for being insensitive and not answering your actual question. good luck on your production and congrats on your 2nd baby.
