I have a question, fellow bowlaz! I work in a small advertising agency in Oslo, Norway, and we struggle to get in contact with international ad media such as Adweek (Ad Freak) and Ad Age whenever we want to show off our creative work. Does anyone of you have a way in, or tips on how we can get in contact with media outlets like these? Cheers

For writers I always recommend also reading NON-advertising books (usually non-fiction, memoir) that just inspire you comedically, or w/ their ability to tell a story, or general writing tone & style, etc..
Eg: anything by David Sedaris. Augusten Burroughs (a former ad guy, coincidentally). Bill Bryson. I personally gravitate to stand-up comedians who have memoirs like Jim Gaffigan (another former ad guy)…Bob Odenkirk‘s “comedy comedy comedy drama“ is fantastic. “Born Standing Up“ by Steve Martin. “Bossypants” by Tina Fey. “Bedwetter” by Sarah Silverman. “Sure I’ll Join Your Cult” by Maria Bamford. Colin Jost “A Very Punchable Face.” “Misfit” by Gary Gulman. Stuff like that. Doesn’t have to be about advertising specifically to ultimately inspire great advertising writing— because a lot of times comedy memoirs deal with some very heavy subjects as well.
