Is it standard to display your gender pronouns on zoom/slack etc in business school? I’ve noticed this is ubiquitous at Haas, but wondering if that’s specific to them

Just defeated a SJ motion via Zoom and the judge read her entire decision into the record while opposing counsel looked like he’d rather die than be there once he’d lost. If you’re gonna sigh at least mute yourself.

A coworker (diff depts) and I realized we live in the same neighborhood after running into each other on the street. We started talking more in the office and he ended one convo with “we should get drinks sometime”. I gave him my number via slack and said to hit me up when he wants to get together. Hadn’t heard from him in a couple weeks then connected him to my friend who works for a company he’s trying to sell to. Then he asked if I’d set him up with my friend :( think I have any chance?

We have motion sensor lights in my office and the sensor is far from my desk. Consequently, if I'm on a long WebEx, the lights go out and it's embarrassing. The building won't change the sensor. Anyone find a solution for this (aside from standing up and moving, which would be very awkward)? I can't rearrange my office.

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?
