Anyone in CA have experience with noncompetes with a prior employer? I understand non competes are illegal/unenforceable in CA (understandably mess with workers’ ability to secure employment following leaving or a RIF). Has anyone in CA been denied a job or had a prior employer (an out of state employer) come after them for seeking employment with a competitor?

I realized a slow pace at work is really bad for me. A couple years ago I was experiencing burn out from my fast paced job supporting transactions, and believed by moving to a slower job in a lower cost area, I would be sailing off to the sunset.
