Anyone know of K bbq “happy hours” or other cheap but good bbq options in Ktown +/- 1 neighborhood? They have them in The Bay but want to find one here.

Wish I could help.

I haven’t quite explored KBBQ in LA because I used to eat KBBQ a lot in Northern VA (which arguably has the 2nd largest “Koreatown” in the US) and got tired of it.

Ironically, I can recommend excellent Mexican and desi cuisine options that happen to be located in Koreatown lol 😬

Like almost any KBBQ - any restaurant without English signs in the door will be cheap.

Oo-kook is a good start

Soowon is the best albeit not exactly cheap. I generally don’t recommend quantity over quality places... have you thought about animal welfare

D1 that’s a great callout. Good things to consider

Jjukku Jukku has an $18 lunch special iirc. It was at least decent

Ok-Kook definitely the best “inexpensive” option

Job base salary presented by HR during screening interview was $130-$145k. I have 3-5 years more experience and more education compared to the posting requirements (BA required, I have a MS). I love the position and what it entails, but was hoping to reach $150-$160 base salary. If offered the position, is this a reasonable ask? This is for big pharma, data analytics in New England.

Hi All,
Looking for insight on vendor’s hourly retouching rates - doing some research because I think our current vendor is too high. I’ve seen anywhere from $118/hour to $225/hour for basic clean-up, masking, etc. Thanks!!

I’ve had several great interviews with a few diff companies. Or rather, I thought they went well but then I get the dreaded “thanks but we made the difficult decision to move forward with other candidates”. I’ve asked for feedback but so far have gotten none.

I know it’s competitive out there, but I also don’t know how I can either position myself better, seek positions that are more aligned with my expertise/experience, or work on improving certain areas.

Any advice on how to proceed?

I’m outside, here’s the menu, everything free !!

How durable are Bonobos work pants? I’m sick of burning through a few pairs of cheap pants a year....

I have 7 years experience as a QA engineer in networking domains,to be specific to WiFi/WLAN testing.
I started my career with a 6LPA package,after gaining 2.7 years experience,
Switched to Second company for 9.5LPA .
Switched to a 3rd company (currently working here) which is my dream company for 18.5LPA with a total experience of 5.11 years.
Though I'm happy with my work and company culture, I am not completely satisfied with the current 18.5LPA salary. I always have a feeling I'm underpaid.

I am switching from patient care front desk with a eye Dr clinic to patient care in a hospital. I'm worried about learning all the codes I'll need to learn. Is there a resource site or something i can start reviewing codes?

People at my company claim to be supportive, promote great work culture but there’s actually no support at all just bunch of bs. I am in a situation where im not getting the support from my supervisors, BDs and everyone is fake all the time. I am genuinely putting in the work and not getting the benefits I deserve. What are some good companies to work for in Marketing/advertising in Toronto? Or how would u go about addressing stuff like this ?

I am looking for a amazing career opportunity in beauty or fashion! Would love to connect on this platform.

I jumped on a call with a candidate to debrief from his interview results I asked him how felt it went and if he enjoyed the interviews. After he shared with me his feedback I started to highlight the areas where he did poor and where he did great. But in the middle of it he cut me off and said, can we just address the elephant in the room, did I pass it or not?. His approach threw me off but I wanted to share with him but it seems like his disregard everything I had said. Anyone experienced it?

For the older 🐠 out there. Have any of you successfully re-dated an ex and end up getting married? Haven't talked to an ex in 2 years and really hit it off.

I don't want people to think I'm just a "diversity hire" because I'm a minority female. Not sure what to do about this. Any input or advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Career advice please. I'm in my 20's work for a company that just went public, I'll receive a few thousand in shares for my time there. I have good pto and insurance is paid for. There is room for growth, so no real stall in my career. However I have a job offer for a contract with a crypto company for double what I make. It's a year contract and I use the company's product on my own time all the time. I am also heavily invested in the crypto space, philosophically monetarily, and time wise.

Hi Fishes,

I have received an offer letter for joining after couple of months but my official notice period is 90 days. Will there be any issue while joining as HR told me offer letter date cannot be changed but will send it on the mail.

What do you wish you had known before becoming a manager?

I think I live under a rock, but I've heard people mention companies having the ability to charge people an extra 4% for all credit/debit card transactions at some point. Anyone have the 411 on this?

Hi Fishes, last month I didn't take IBM offer letter due to some personal reasons after clearing managerial round. But now I want to join IBM and I have applied for some openings as well. Is there any cool off period in IBM for attending interview? Will my applications be considered?

Attended a few Disco Dining events last year. They’re sporadic but interesting.

Today I read the op-ed in LA Weekly by the Preux and Proper owner, Josh Kopel. When this group started, it was a dream of mine to meet you while enjoying a drink or a meal and build a community of people who enjoy the city and wanted to explore its food. It’s surreal to think that we have been in lockdown for this long. I know many restaurants may be struggling and if you have a favorite, a local gem, please share with us.

This is high on my list of places to check out next. Birria is truly a hidden gem in Mexican cuisine!

😭 tonight was supposed to be reservations at n/naka for my birthday 😭

Hi everyone! Gonna send our first meet up invite later tonight. I’m finalizing arrangements with the restaurant. Stay tuned!

With things as they are, anybody have favorite delivery or pick-up spots for dinners? Cooking is fun but starting to get repetitive!

The Burrow in DTLA makes a stellar sandwich. One of the few places I've seen that imports jamon iberico. Very cool lounge, tucked away in a basement with no cell service, to enjoy a drink in peace at.

Spouse made reservations for my birthday at n/Naka that will probably be cancelled due to the LA County news about extending stay-at-home 😭😷

Anyone interested in getting together for an outdoor patio/rooftop dinner (with all proper safety protocols) in the next couple of weeks?

Anyone else think you're better off going to a restaurant than a grocery store? Went out for dinner the other night and there wasn't a soul in the place. No waiting either. e10 DT gets a thumbs up

Anyone else avoiding dining out now because of the virus?

Hi everyone! Thank you for indulging me in this idea. I’m planning to send out a survey tomorrow to see what/when/where is the best time to do a meet up. I’m shooting for mid-March. V excited!

President Thai in Pasadena.

Gives some of the Thai Town joints a run for their money! Highly, highly recommend.

Best Viet/pho spots? I had found my own gem before moving from SF Bay area, but now need a new watering hole. Only place I have been is Little Sister. Very good but not sure pho is their specialty
