Help me menu plan! Having another couple over on Friday for a little birthday celebration, so four people total. Not sure what to make/serve, could be as casual as charcuterie or an all-appetizer meal, or something more composed, plus cocktails. Only requirements are relatively low key to make, and hopefully not crazy expensive.
Side note: if you like mussels, get the mussels in clay pot with red bean at Little Sister next time. Very, very good!
Their SGV banh mi served with pho broth dip on the lunch menu is so damn good
Gigo’s deli. Get the egg rolls. Pho is good too.
I could be wrong, but in my experience LAs pho game is weak. OC is where it’s at.
That said, my go to spot in the area is Pho on California in Pasadena.
Pho Show in Culver is my local go-to. I haven’t found much non-pho Vietnamese in the LA basin. Across LA pho is very casual comfort dining, whereas Little Sister is Vietnamese foodie-fusion-tapas: great, but a different scene entirely.
Guess I'll have to poke around a bit and check out those shots too 🤔
