Hypothetically if I give a range or say "around x" and they gave me the midpoint of my ask, how much more do I try to negotiate without scaring them off? I am assuming the % more can't be over the top of my range if I gave one and naturally can't be top of the market. What if what they offered is already considered top of market?

Just finished the last of FIVE video interviews for a new position and have to share a tip that helped me every step of the way: taping talking points to the wall right above my screen. I carefully considered my answers to the top ~4 questions I thought they might ask and wrote large bullet points for myself. It kept me on track, focused, and eloquent. Highly recommended for anyone else doing video interviews!

My Redfin agent recently quit with one day notice to start his own firm. He was the one behind my deal and did a lot of work and help with negotiation. However Redfin called me and said they put their top regional lead on transaction which is set to close in 10 days. I’m conflicted with what to do. I was going to buy a condo this year and I just found one in a pretty good neighborhood. I do feel it is being sold at a premium but I can afford the property and locked down a 5.5% interest rate after a buy down costing 4K. Should I hold off on buying a place. The monthly payment is higher than I would have wanted but I feel like buying is better than renting because you are investing in yourself.I had saved up 40k and it’s in my account for buying. If I don’t buy what should I do?
