Is it worth it to take the CPA if you don’t plan on staying in public accounting?

Life after audit at Big 4? I am starting to considering leaving after the next busy season, knowing that I genuinely do not enjoy audit. But I am struggling with ideas on what could logically come next… wanting to hear from other professionals on their opportunities after exiting Big 4. If I leave on my estimated timeline I will have completed 1 busy season as a S1, with 2.5ish years total experience at B4.

Does anyone have experience with modeling courses like WSP or FMVA? Currently in FDD and exploring making the jump to IB in the next year or so. I be got a good academic record, a CPA, fairly relevant experience in M&A, but no on the job modeling experience so I would think that certification coupled with everything else would nudge me in the right direction. Thoughts?

Eyeing some of the academic fellowships at the end of the 1st year. Can alum shed some light on difficulty to get a high GPA? Does Flex core vs. Fixed core matter?

Big 4 managers, is your PW at Level 3 or Level 4? EY’s requirement for manger is 4-5 years of experience, and when I was looking at the PWD, it seems that for a typical job title, this requires Level 4 wage.

Need some advice on my next career move. I'm 31, have an MBA and am currently a SC in Risk Advisory with no M&A experience. I am good at risk consulting work but don't find it very challenging or interesting. That said, I expect to get promoted to M next year.

Recently, I interviewed with another Big 4 firm for SC in CDD M&A team and have got an offer. I enjoyed doing the CDD case study, and I believe I'd do well in the role.

Does it make sense to start afresh in M&A at this stage?
