Hop on the toilet for 20 minutes. Always works.
Focus on your breath. Slow and deep. Take a few minutes if you have it or even just a few second and concentrate only on your breath. It's something that's always with you, regardless of your mental state, and can bring you back to level.
EY2's advice is spot on. Focusing on breathing helps immensely.
Also, focus on relaxing your muscles, especially your face, neck and shoulders.
Another good one is to take a 5 minute walk, outside if possible.

Also, as hard as it may be if you're caught up in the moment, just try to back your head out of it and remember that the world is just a spec of dust. And that things aren't as magnified as they seem in that moment. The world will keep turning.
There is a new wearable called Spire that buzzes you to take deep breaths when it thinks you are anxious. It's worked well for me so far (2 weeks in)
I find myself unable to relax, always worrying about something or the other.. but I'd like to avoid resorting to a drug. Even during massage, acupuncture, facials, etc They're always telling me to relax and I'm like "but howwww?? :("
Use the "pause" app. Take showers in complete darkness. Pay close attention to your diet, possibly take fiber supplements.
I count backwards from 50, especially in another language if possible, because it makes me focus on what number im saying next. I also agree with E2, focussing on your breath helps, too.
I've had people recommend ashwaghanda vitamin supplements. Have friends who swear by it and equate it to Prozac or Zoloft etc
