Anyone working in DBS hongkong?

Has anybody been successful asking for a raise while being paid in a lockstep comp system? Our pay scale is below market, so I want to ask for a bump. More importantly, who should I be asking? HR? Partners?

London folk, question for you: do firms and offices in London not recruit candidates directly? I hardly see positions advertised on the websites of these firms but there are vacancies that they seem to recruit for through recruiters. What’s the deal here? Does it make sense to approach firms by yourself at all? Would appreciate any insight I can get on the matter. Thank you!

How diverse are advertising/portfolio/design schools? The lack of diversity there will make really hard to fix diversity in our industry. Maybe agencies could also sponsor more tuitions or something to make it more inclusive. Partnership deal - is this a good deal?
I’m working on building a start-up. This requires an app and a website. A friend of mine has a web development company who can do the job for me very well and efficiently. He really likes my project and offered a partnership: i pay him $30k and he gets 20% equity.
He also gave me the option to be ‘treated as a client’ and deliver my project at a normal rate (about $80K), should I not want to partner.
