I honestly haven't heard of any big stories but I do imagine that big companies with LGBTQ campaigns have to feel quite a bit more self-conscious about running campaigns when the results can be so mixed and people are actually quite critical of the big corporate participation in Pride
Cause people are tired of the inauthentic campaign gymnastics with no strategy or thought. DEI is cancelled yall. So just support the companies that you relate to. These companies don’t owe us anything. Spend your money where you feel seen the most.
Yes, I have seen a lot of criticism on social media for pride month stuff from Target and other retailers. It’s very much, we don’t really have anything interesting to add but are somehow obligated to do stuff for it. And Bud Light especially, I think they just didn’t consider their target audience and that was an odd move.
My guess is that some companies are wary just because it's an election year and it's a sure bet that some people will be looking to make a major political issue out of anything that appears to be positive for gay Americans. I don't imagine anyone will go on record saying that, but it's not hard to figure out what's happening.
