I don’t think it’s opposition as much as a bad reaction to bad recruiters. His follow ups in the replies make it seem like he’s naive when it comes to getting hired, especially as a creative. In fact it seems like their biggest problem is that they have worked at the same agency their entire career and haven’t built a network, so they’re underpaid and don’t have other agencies reaching out to him. This might be the first “white male victim” post that’s relatable because it’s the kind of situation you hear more often for non-white talent, and sometimes white women.
The difference is that for us, instead of “you’re a white man,” it’s something like “it wasn’t a cultural fit” or “you don’t have [very specific] experience.” Which, as we know, tends to also be bs.
I didn't take it as opposition and I think it's unhelpful to do so.
