I agree with AGA, you never know until you ask! It’s not common to see black female designers, so I would hop on the opportunity, if you can. If she is open to it, ask her how often could you be able to meet up, depending on her schedule.
It can't hurt to ask her some questions. But just be aware that her schedule may not be conducive to taking on someone to mentor. So it's good to not make demands on her time. But asking legitimate questions is a good way to break the ice and see how it goes. Some talented people will be generous with advice and insights, but you have to ask them.
I would go for it! It may even help you get hired long-term if they see you taking the initiative. You'll never know until you ask!

I think that you should definitely ask. Every good mentor I have had throughout the years I have gotten by just asking if they would be my mentor. Most people are really flattered to be ask and they will tell you whether or not they have the capacity to mentor you. I say go for it. \
