As I get ready to leave my job this Friday and start a new adventure on Monday, I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and guilt. My manager has been really rubbing it in, making me feel guilty for moving on. But the truth is, I'm leaving for my own job security. It's tough to navigate these emotions! Has anyone else had a similar experience when changing jobs? How did you handle the guilt?

Your only loyalty is to yourself. Don't feel guilty for putting yourself first. Companies will let you go without even a second thought. There is no loyalty from companies anymore and they don't deserve yours.

Thank you. I just want this last week to be over already!

Banish that guilt! If people are trying to make you feel guilty, just brush that aside. If you're doing the right thing for yourself that's all that matters. Companies will lay off any one of us and think nothing of it, so we can't let ourselves get emotional about moving on.

Thanks. It took some time but i don't have any doubt I'm doing the right thing, but management are asking am I 100% sure, trying to put doubt in my mind.

Companies don't feel guilty when they lay off people. Why should you feel guilty for choosing something better for yourself? Your manager behaving that way is their problem, not yours. I hope you feel proud and excited about the adventure you're going to start on. Congratulations!

Aww thank you. I'm nervous but I'm so ready for change.

Completely agree with the above comments, got to put yourself first and do it for your yourself and your working life not others.

Absolutely. I know they just want to keep me, they don't want it enough to offer any more money though. That's not why I'm leaving but it's like they're wanting to keep me with no effort other then making me feel guilty.

I have observed that people on testing domain or frontend are getting better pay than other new tech domains like blockchain, cyber security, data sci etc(4-11yr exp) .
For less than 4 years experience new tech job gettig good pay but others getting very less.

In dev job Java, spring r etc getting better pay. Also some SAP consultant are also get paid high.
Is exp people in testing/frontend dev are less due to which they getting better pay than others with experience.
