New agency + Pac-Man emoji + old agency
*game over sound effect*
I’ve seen people use “New Company Name (formerly Old Name)” on their resumes and LI.
I’ve seen this too but I always assumed it was so that some of these junior level recruiters knew that the hell a J Walter Thompson is.
Yeah and don’t put it as a new position just change the old company name
I’d say if BRO agency is dead like not around after the merger and you now work at SIS agency then that technically is the company you have been working at for 4 years since they just had a name change.
What else would you do?

You can do both companies in one entry, separated by a slash. That’s what I did, anyways.
I was thinking this too for my resume. But is this doable on LinkedIn?
I’ve seen people put (acquired) in their job description on that specific role and then add new role at the company. If I did this, I would put the new role as started when I started my role at said bought out agency.
Although unless you work for corporate,
I’m waiting to see if my agency is sunset or not. Because if not, I’ll just keep the title etc.
Oh this is for sure not a now-now thing. It’s just with the rumors that they’re just going to start melting some of the creative shops together I’ve been 1) coming to terms with the possibility that I will soon be unemployed and 2) not sure what to do with my resume and LinkedIn if I am actually keeping my job
