I hear you. I’m chronically struggling to find any motivation to do anything. Then I beat myself up for not being 100% productive. Then I realize that I’m just so burned out from our culture, expectations, brain always running background processes, nothing ever good/fast/big enough, and I’m just bored of all of it. Then I realize I’m not a lazy person, it’s just really hard to keep caring. Then I go back to stressing again because I realize I’m not doing the things I’m supposed to do. Then I start beating myself up again for being lazy.
And round and round we go!
Rising Star
At this age they are related
We exhaust ourself constantly (over)thinking and learn to live in a mostly thought based world, separated from much of life.
Finding a discipline that rebalances overthinking can increase contentment and energy and become less reactive.
Hiking, marathons, meditation, biking, gardening, musical instruments, etc. Anything that is physical and requires continual focus on what’s at hand.
Me too!! Getting to where the regular physical is key indicator and working my exercise/sleep are biggest drivers!
Pro
Neither, just mildly depressed. Step out if your rut a bit.
Neither, you just couldn't care less any longer
Retirement age should be 40! Lol.
To add, i have some very off thyroid numbers and waiting for a specialist appointment. It might be the reason why, but the specialist did not see me soon enough so maybe im not supposed to be feeling that sick. I’ve been waiting for the appt for almost a month.
Go easy on yourself. Thyroid issues are significant & take a lot of time, patience, and trial and error to regulate! I would get a functional doctor. Feel better soon
Haha too funny!!
In my case (I'm sort of a medical mystery) I'm a)not feeling well; b) expending loads of energy an consuming cognitive bandwidth trying to figure out what is going on; that c) ain't much left so;d) is seem lazy.
Like that old tee-shirt slogan ... "I may seem lazy but metabolically, I'm on fire."
It’s hyperthyroid so this is essentially me right now.
