Like a lot of people, I’m thinking about going back to school for an MBA. I don’t have the money or time to dedicate to a top tier school, so I’ve been looking at WGU’s MBA in IT Management. It’s accredited. Time and cost-efficient.

My primary concern is not prestige or the connections from school like some others I’ve heard. I just want to know if I went this route, would I still be able to check that MBA box and open the door for higher starting salary if I made a jump?

What was the hardest class year for you? I used to think first year was by far the hardest but now I’m a third year and I’m really feeling the pressure to step up. I work in finance and at this point I’m expected to handle closing documents, manage first years, draft some portions of major docs, etc. I feel like I’m always frazzled, constantly second guessing if I handled something correctly and anxious to answer calls from clients/OC. Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

At a different job I had a customer trying to swindle me in telling me that there was a deal in an item that never had a deal or promotion for sale so he made me scan the item 20 times before believing me. Obviously, he finally let it go but I scan it with an inventory scanner that showed me all of the sale price promotions if there were any
