Awwwww, the frustration of midterms has passed. Students still trying to turn in assignments that were due in week two. Midterms ended on Friday, so now they are like "I turned in my late assignment, now grade it and update my grade. Some of our teachers will frantically still keep putting in grades before they post to Skyward, and others are like "Sorry, it was due and now the assignment is loçked". When is the best time to lock assignments or do you keep accepting them after the due date?

Keep in my my context is different (HS 11th grade), my assignments lock two days after they are due. I will accept late work after that only under extenuating circumstances.

like

We have teachers who only make the required allowance for excused absences. They won't unlock assignments for anything

Depends on the situation, but I do dock for lateness.

I dock for lateness, but until my admin makes me do it, I don't lock my assignment. People say that if we don't lock the assignments after the due date, we are not teaching the kids to be accountable.

like

In middle school language arts, we lock assignments two weeks after the due date, unless the assignment is foundational to the next assignment, in which case there are just a few days.

That makes sense. In my classes everything is based on the previous lessons. That is why I keep my assignments unlocked.

Some teachers believe that if the students are aware that assignments will be locked, it will make them more accountable and diligent. I used to lock them, but spent more time unlocking the assignments for students who gave a legitimate reason for the assignment to be unlocked.

Looking to put 10k into ibonds (maybe another 10k next year but not sure yet). Is treasury site easy enough to use? I initially stayed away because I heard it's awful but if set up is doable then I'll reconsider.

Also, should you have a separate emergency fund until you can withdraw your ibonds? Can't withdraw if you have an emergency in the next 12 months.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Surprised to see the lack of consulting exit posts and bowls for the UK market.
-Keen to hear about common exits from consulting. Particularly exits at senior levels consultant - manager - director+.
