Is it a bad idea to go into a niche area of consulting straight after school (life science PhD)? Currently have 3 offers - company A does generalist LS, company B only does competitive intelligence, and company C only does market access but the comp is decent (20% more than the other two for analyst position). Very tempted to choose company C but I am scared that a niche area would hurt my career growth in the future :/

Which one is a better career path for someone just starting in the construction industry? Design or project management? Whats a fair offer for an entry level position in each of them?

Thoughts on MBA as a means to move into higher management? Or is it a waste of time/money and experience/networking alone matter most when trying to move up into management? I’m quite young and currently on an SDE position but my goal is to not stay under a technical position “forever”

What is the variable pay does Macquarie give year on year ? And is there a surety that we will surely get a decent variable pay as well over our fixed package since I don't find anything mentioned regarding this variable pay in my offer letter. Yoe- 8 and tech - selenium testing, and position- assistant manager.
If yes, how much one can expect in variable pay for fixed compensation of around 25-30lpa.

I recently (1+ yr ago) transitioned from consulting to industry. The hours are much better. Total comp is less than what I was making on the consulting side (-15% less). My schedule is much better, and I have a good routine outside of work. However, I don't feel accomplished at my current role and feel like I am not learning as much. I was hoping that I would make up for that comp difference in a year or two but upward mobility seems limited. Is it too soon to look for another job?

I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. I was offered $42k plus bonuses at the interview, but when called back I was offered $44.5k plus bonuses. I already accepted. Did I leave money on the table here?
