Tech - Data Science Role

I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

If you’re a manager and you see an employee that wants to branch out into a different department, why would you keep them boxed in for 2+ years?

Had a phone call last week with T15 adcom inquiring if they had additional merit funds. Adcom said she would pass my name to scholarship committee and would only hear back if I was granted more aid. Im strongly considering an MBA. Only thing that deters me is cost. I’ve heard of some tier 1 firms that will offer tuition reimbursement for returning interns post-MBA, how common is that? Also considering pivoting to a firm that offers scholarships. Any tips/insight on this? Thank you!

My mba “coach” is a bit concerned because I want to pivot into an industry that I don’t have any experience in, and that industry primarily does JIT recruiting.
