Also, if you have a good job, healthcare is DEFINITELY better in the States
P1 all the homeless people in the streets doing drugs don’t seem that healthy… not saying they don’t have this issue in the States but it’s the same here

Chill brother... Canada is arguably better place to live than the states as well as most European countries
Why don't you go there then?
The grass is always greener on the other side
I've lived and worked in both countries for 10+ years/each. The grass is greener on the other side, for most people in Canada at our socioeconomic level. Typically you don't see drastic health outcomes at that socioeconomic level.
Btw, the OMA has gutted the accountability of the Healthcare infrastructure in Ontario, not to mention competition (Ontario doctors can get licensed in the states very easily, but not the other way around) which artificially drives up taxpayer costs (amongst other reasons). So Healthcare being good in Ontario for people at our socioeconomic level compared to what you'd get at a professional org in the US is not even a question. It's better in the states at our level.
The health insurance in the US for most professional organizations and tech companies is very good and the Healthcare system is way more responsive. Even those things that are considered drastic, ie common forms of cancer or heart failure are covered.
That's the health side. Obviously real estate is a no brainer in the US. Way more options for livable cities, so you can easily find a city that fits your COL to income ratio.
Btw, if you were a lower income individual (i.e. Hourly wage employee), I would say Canada is a much better option. Healthcare at that level is super expensive for routine things.
Moved to the US for the same role/company and doubled my salary after currency conversion. Work is the same, quality of the employees are about the same (or maybe even lower lol). I am fortunate and grateful to have left, even if Canada will always be "home".
Taking into account our “health care system” and university tuition are couple reasons we pay more taxes etc. Compare to many European their taxes are much higher and COL is also high. In US one will usually make more money over the short and long term. I have worked and lived in US , Canada Europe and Asia. I enjoy working in US but hands down love living in Canada!

Also don't live in anger!! Act if you think it's unfair you are not five years old anymore
I know but I’m just wondering if I’m the only one feeling this way. I legit feel like something is wrong with the economy here. Like it’s not rewarding hard work.
Some people are not working at all and get paid by the government to stay home when pretty much every company is hiring
And I’m planning to move to the Caribbeans with a fully remote position paid in USD. No tax, and a currency thats worth a little more..
Canadian government has been selling Canadians down the river for the past 30 years. I work in tech and the plan as always is to flood the labour pool with cheap and lower quality workmanship. Good luck to you having to see them distort labour markets at the behest of their corporate overlords, and to buoy real estate markets.
I’m leaving to the EU or US once I get the chance.
Hard reality is for our socio economic status it doesn’t make sense to live in Canada. I am shifting to US with the first chance I get. The only way to not pay for someone else’s laziness and subsidize healthcare and education of ppl who prefer to keep their bum at home and not work is through real estate in Canada. Harsh it may sound the system is broken up and not fixable. I made a pragmatic move; shifted out of socialist Europe to slightly less socialistic Canada to finally a dream capitalist US and get my worth !!
The saddest thing I have ever seen. Giving it all up just to save some taxes https://www.moneyinternational.com/the-world-a-floating-tax-haven-or-lifestyle-choice/
