I've had this chair from Amazon for about a year, and it's still going really strong. I feel like everyone thinks you need to have the Bugatti of chairs but that's just not me. I'm 24 and I've never worked in a real office so I don't have brand loyalty to high-end chairs, but this chair is comfortable, does what I need it to do, doesn't squeak, and I literally have no complaints. $90:

This is a great chair for the price, imo either you get the best cheap chair (this) or you go all out (Herman Miller) not worth it to go in between.
If you’re willing to do the work and have/can borrow a car you can find good used Herman Miller Aerons at wholesalers/fb marketplace for about $200

You can also ask your office for old chairs they might have. Usually those are still in great condition and are costly, but you can get it for free!

Steelcase is also amazing, my chair is one of my favorite purchases to date - worth every dollar. Also helps to have a company benefit that’ll reimburse you for 75% of it though 🙃
