Ridiculous question. Expectation is your at you’re desk from 9am to 9pm every day. Two allotted bathroom brakes at 10.30am and 4.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Why would you expect the employer to pay you to take coffees on there own expense? Your they’re employee, their paying you to work not to take occasional brakes with friends.
The honest answer is it will vary materially between teams within one organisation. I trust my team to manage their time - if they want to spend an hour or two a day having catch ups or coffees both internally and externally I have zero issue with it. As long as they hit their deliverables it’s all good. However I have also been in teams where managers are very over bearing and track everything and aren’t comfortable with people being off the desk for that long without knowing where they are. So will depend on luck of managers to an extent.
Depends on the position. On "career" jobs it is unheard of. On "early retirement" ones sadly it is the norm.
You are still in college so you don't know yet. The job title, the company name and the job description do not matter. In every company there are departments that are extremely slow paced. Nobody will call them career ends (because this is hr inappropriate). They will say things like great work life balance. One the other hand, they will say fast paced environment, because "you will work like there is no tomorrow" doesn't have a nice ring to it.
