It's putting your tongue to the roof of your mouth to change the shape of the jawline. I don't understand how it works because it does nothing for me 😂 It's just another trend that kids have latched on to so they can be relevant.

Way back when once upon a time, students used to drop their pencils as a way to tick off teachers. And so it's gone over the years. Kids will find some way to disrespect adults, and the sneakier the better. Call out the kid, tell the entire class why it's disrespectful, and tell them not to do it and you don't want to see it again in your classroom. As soon as one kid does, lower the boom. They'll get the message pretty quickly.

Which means no, flossing, dabbing, video game talk, or cell phones... we are able to accomplish so much in our classrooms by removing these distractions.
If my students will do this to me while I am talking to them directly, they'd be mewing outside until they bring their parents to the office. No student can shush me in my room.
