How crucial are extra-curriculars/community involvement when applying to HSW/MIT/Booth? I'm MBB 4 years and have had literally no time to do meaningful / impactful extra-curriculars. This is mainly driven by tougher than average cases and gunning for fast-track promotions.
When people talk about ECs in the context of MBB applicants/other jobs where you work long hours, what do they mean? I'm struggling to understand 'what is expected' of applicants in this pool. Anyone got advice? Thank you!!!
How important is undergrad GPA for a "top notch" mba, like harbard or mit? I was a different person back then and only managed a 3.5 in an engineering program.

Do tech companies like FAANG hire strategy consultants? Starting at an MBB/T2 next year and curious if tech companies leverage consultants as much as other industries. Part of me wonders if they are in such high growth right now that consultants can’t add as much value, thus maybe a smaller presence. Thoughts?
Hey all, would love some advice. I’m a Business Analyst with 5 YOE and minimal technical skills. And I’m really unhappy where I’m at. Very underpaid, and feel like I’m limited in job opportunities. I want to become more technical but no idea where to even start! I was thinking about starting with a certification but most seems really tough to learn as a newbie. Any guidance/advice on which certs to look at? Was thinking AWS cloud practitioner as a starting point? Any help welcomed!!
Deloitte USI : Consultant: 16.5 fixed+ 10% variable+ 4 L JB

Given Europe’s lower consulting salary compared to the US, what are the more lucrative post-MBA career paths? Salary progression and location is definitely appreciated.
I know that I am being underpaid. Have been with the company 6 years, have my MBA, and make a little more than new hires in the current market.
Have discussed this and shared my benchmarking with my direct management and HR. They keep telling me to “be patient” (for the opportunity that is ahead of me) & that “life is unfair”.
After 6 years I’m tired of being patient.
I also love my job duties, my coworkers and my boss (who I’ve had for less than a year).
What would you do?
Is it a time frame for taking a CPA exam? What means is that I graduated for a few years but didn’t take CPA exam. After starting with a job at PA, I always feel exhausted and endless work. Now, I don’t have a busy schedule anymore, then think of taking CPA exam will be an option. Before I submit application and paperwork, I have to make sure if my credits are still valid. That’s the reason why I’m asking if there is a time frame for taking a CPA exam.

My partner threatened to leave me if I don't stop working because I'm completely overtaxed and have become a nightmare to be around, and we don't need the money. This is obvious a terrible thing for them to say, but it was in the moment and they expressed they didn't mean it as a real threat afterwards. Other than telling me they should go to therapy, should I be considering taking time off? I love my job and sometimes I think it's actually the only thing that's providing a modicum of sanity.
Anyone find themselves interrupting too much? I tend to get excited when talking with friends or about something I'm passionate about, and I occasionally will totally interrupt someone (unintentionally) when I get too into it. No one has mentioned it to me but I've caught a few looks from friends when it happens, and I'd like to work on it just for the sake of being polite. Advice?
