Does anyone have any tips for blocking out light and sound at night beyond ear plugs/eye mask/leave nyc?
Extremely light sleeper looking for a solution that is preferably not too invasive

Black out curtains

like

Will order, thanks

Agree w black out curtains, that was a game changer for me. Also, white noise machine. If you’re a side sleeper, maybe think about getting custom-made ear plugs that are shaped to your ear. I haven’t done this bc the white noise machine was good enough, but that would have been my next step.

like

Use white noise and turn on the AC to avoid sudden noise at night.

For some reason white noise has always had the opposite intended effect on me

“Leave NYC” haha. I know you said it already about the eye mask, but seriously, an eye mask lol. A GOOD one. Get an expensive one and it will change your sleep experience. Worked wonders for me.

White noise machine, be careful to order the right one though.

I also have the bose sleep buds, but they are causing pressure for me as I sleep on my side. If that wasn‘t the case they would be really good (still have them for flights or when ppl are over)

like

oh wow. i keep white noise on my phone below half volume and its good for me. can’t imagine full volume on the phone. if a noise machine is louder than that it sounds deafening tbh. i guess to each their own

Lectro Fan white noise machine.

Do you live in a highrise or closer to street level? You can also get studio sound proofing panels for your walls

I use a sleep mask and got one one of those head bands with ear buds that are small/flat and connect to a white noise machine app on my phone and I have had no trouble side sleeping like a baby the last few months. If you’re going sound machine the portable marpac baby one I find so much better than any other I’ve tried in terms of volume and consistency/durability.
