A lot.
I take a quick look, but if their work isn’t relevant enough to grab my attention, I don’t reply.
I get about two a day. I respond to work that is compelling.
Since we’re being honest here, what’s the personal policy on receiving emails from Directors who think your work is great and want to work with you when it makes sense? Compliment or 🙅🏽♂️

Email? A couple a week. I only respond if it’s relevant. If it’s job outreach I send them to our recruiter. LinkedIn is a war zone and I rarely respond.

I don’t get many! Most mentoring/informational chats happen through LinkedIn. My emails are mostly marketing from production companies, photographers, directors, etc.

Originally responded to all because, frankly, the novelty that people gave a shit about me was flattering.
It quickly became too much of an imposition to find the time to review their work and respond constructively (whether strong or weak). Even kindly saying we weren’t hiring etc.
You also very quickly deprioritise messages that clearly aren’t tailored to you/your agency.
