As someone who has done level 2 and works with many people who have the CFA I would tend to agree, however I'm not in an area of finance where it's that important so maybe in other areas of finance it makes a bigger difference 🤷🏻♀️
Have the charter and agree. Was a great means to an end for me. I will say that the biggest benefit was it taught me how much I didn’t know which then spurred on curiosity to learn more about the areas I found interesting.
Always found it ironic when people viewed themselves as having a leg up intellectually because of it. If anything, the big takeaway was how out of depth you’d be against most people working in specific markets.
Completely agree with this
“Biggest” waste of money & time? 🤔 MBA is like 100x
I’m not sure if I agree with you! I got my MBA already 8 years into various finance jobs. It “padded” my resume but can’t say I learnt more than I learned on the job. Nothing comes close to actual work experience. Also, if you tend to read a lot of professional literature, most of your MBA classes would look like elementary school.
It's just to pad the resume so you can stand out from your peers
It makes your resume move from the trash can back on my desk. That’s all it does. Otherwise, I can’t say I have seen much difference in intellectual capacity.
I’m taking level 2 in May. I actually like it a lot. I feel like I’m learning a lot and it helps me get interviews. It’s worth noting I didn’t study finance in undergrad though.
