I grade them on 4 things... hence they get 4 points each day.
Attendance(in class and on time)
Prepared(changed and wearing appropriate shoes)
Participation
Attitude/sportsmanship
This way they are learning the value of showing up on time being prepared and putting in the work with a good attitude.
Changing clothes doesn’t really have anything to do with grades. If you have a dress code and students don’t follow it, then it is a discipline issue. Follow the discipline plan. Grading should be based on standards and outcomes. Create a performance rubric that targets the outcomes you are looking for. Use the SHAPE America grade level outcomes to help you determine appropriate targets for each grade. Remember the national outcomes are examples because schools have different facilities and equipment.
You could grade them on how quickly they hey can change (efficient? tardy?), and are they properly prepared? Shirt-shorts-acceptable shoes-white socks (responsible?)
They learn time-management, problem solving, being properly prepared-self discipline, etc. 🤠
Best of luck!
