Can anyone share their experience working for an IT staffing company as a sales executive? Any particular pros and cons?

Coming with 8 years of international sales, account management & shopper marketing experience, I’m getting Retail Associate/Sales Associate offers by CPG companies with as low as $18/hr and $0.46 per km fuel.

While I think it’s a great opportunity to learn about the Canadian market as a new resident, it would break my bank and I would have to buy the car for this roles while living in Midtown Toronto. It doesn’t make financial sense to me.

Am I being under paid? I have been working for a SaaS company for the last 6 months As a Director of sales and I am making 130k annually plus bonus. I am responsible for building/starting and managing 4 different departments; Partner program, customer success, inbound/outbound sales and marketing. This includes building strategies, managing day to day, managing a sales team, build out marketing plans, and also producing my own outbound sales, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.

Coming from 7yoe of industry + Big 4 consulting with MBA before pivoting into tech sales to be a hunter closer. Aiming for industry-aligned AE openings to leverage my related background, but most descriptions still “require” 2-5 years of quota or full cycle experience even for SMB. Would my 12mo as BDR be good enough since I have 8 total years of professional experience?

Just started as an AE and I am responsible for the prospecting, running meetings, and closing the deal. Ive been doing like 50/calls per day with about 40 emails per day. I either keep getting rejection emails, VM’s or not interested over the phone. Can someone give me advice how to to get more people attend my initial meetings? My company has always had SalesForce but it was not really a tool that we used or that anyone looked at. Over the last year my company has put more stress on growth (to be acquired or IPO) and they are now obsessed. I know it is important and necessary and my boss is clearly becoming stressed with our entire team.
