Would love some advice / thoughts. I went straight from law school to a corporate legal department in house for an asset manager. They like “home grown” talent and I “be worked hard and risen relatively quickly (AGC in 9 years). I work hard and get a lot of complicated deals done (structured products and private funds). I can’t shake certain people (in compliance department mainly) thinking I don’t have enough experience to do what I do because I didn’t come from a law firm. Any advice?

I’m in big law and on the cusp of making the jump to in-house. It sounds like the company I just interviewed with is getting ready to make me an offer. It’s definitely going to be a pay cut coming from big law but I do get some nice equity in the company. Is the jump worth it? Big law specialist with an offer to be the CFO and GC of a 250M AUM hedge fund. All in comp would probably be ~$300k, so about $100k less than where I would be in big law (including bonus). Potential to get involved in the business side, but most likely more of a back office role (I would also be the only legal hire - main goal would be cutting outside legal cost and streamlining processes). Does this sound like an attractive offer? What exit options would I have?

Anyone ever considered contractor gig in Meta/Facebook or any other big players in tech? I'm full-time in a smaller company and it's pretty stable. Wondering if the move could be worthwhile. For in-house counsel roles, does firm prestige matter? For example, would the fact that an applicant is from Sullivan & Cromwell vs, say, White & Case matter at all, or is it much more about experience/interview? I’m in discussions to become the GC of a mid size but international company that does ~$1 billion in annual revenue. Smallish legal department. They’ve asked for my comp expectations. I don’t have specific expectations but I want to be compensated at least market for a NYC based GC (which looks like cash comp of at least $300k plus bonus, etc). Any suggestions on how people would respond?
