Cryptic IRS letter - I got a letter today that sent a payment of $3,000 dated a year and a half ago was applied to my account. It has a legitimate phone number that matches the IRS website. How would they not have come after me with a penalty if they didn’t get my payment for a year and a half? There’s no record of this particular payment amount going out of my personal account. Could this be a late employer payment?

Sounds like a scam without more information. Anyone can find an IRS number online and put it on a letter

I don’t know what you are trying to say. Please clarify your first sentence.

You are cryptic

like

This is not clear. Is the letter saying you need to pay it back? What?

Your post is cryptic - elaborate

Who cares? If it doesn’t impact you, save the document and move on.

No one knows what you are saying so how can we know what the letter is saying?

Are you a tax practitioner? Or at least proficient at tax enough to pass as a practitioner? Call the IRS practitioner line for faster access and ask about it. (866) 860-4259

For those asking for more clarity on what I’m asking — What could this be related to? I didn’t make this payment amount. Why would the IRS get it and apply it to my account? Why would they take 1.5 years to do so? I’m so confused what to do with this.

If the letter is as unclear as your writing, I would say you can safely ignore it

Post a dagum picture of the letter.

Hi Fishes, I've accepted offer from Accenture from their portal.. But now got new offer from EY and wants to join at EY. So how can I tell Accenture Accenture India that I'm not going to join them. Rather than not showing up on the date of joining? Can you please guide me? How do I let them know? My talent coach is not reachable

How do you keep up/in touch with your network? Mine barely post anything on LinkedIn, so commenting on their posts is out of the question, and apparently it's impolite to just message or email them if the job searcher doesn't have anything to share besides asking for a referral or opening. If I don't have any relevant information to share with them, what should I do?
