How do you operate two levels up as a SM? Just act like the OMP from time to time?
Bingo KPMG 1.
Don't read too much into Gold Standard ratings. Not saying you aren't that good but it has been abundantly clear no one knows how to use that standard.
FYI 30% of EY was rated gold standard last cycle.
*gold standard for one review cycle
*facepalm*
Of course. I made it after 1. They wanted me to jump right to SM because that was the role I was filling anyway but they had to keep appearances so I did a year at Manager. My advice is always be operating a level up. Or maybe even two.
Forget gold..reach for vibranium
Isn’t that normal?
Yes it’s possible. It usually involved sleeping with their partner for the ‘fast track’ promotion....
Unless you were an experienced hire who was borderline on starting rank, a skip promotion to SM will be really tough for you long term. No matter how amazing you believe you are, other more experienced Ms have been building their SM skill set and book of business for longer. Once you're promoted, the clock starts ticking for PPED or out, and you'd start at the back of the pack
Isn’t senior manager the worst position at the firm? In terms of work, stress, pressure, expectations, etc.
