That slow flip of the coupon is always the moment. Like somehow the laws of time might change if you just turn it over. Keeping a straight face in those situations is a real skill. You just stand there nodding like maybe the expiration date reconsidered itself.

I'm sure it was probably disappointing for them and they were doing their best to see if there might be a way to make it happen. I do my best to honor expired coupons if I can because I know times are tough.

Customer service really builds patience in the funniest ways. That slow flip of the coupon like it might magically reset itself is such a real moment. You just stand there trying not to laugh while staying kind. Those little scenes are exhausting and hilarious at the same time.
lol. At least they didn't get mad at you. Sometimes in situations like that, when the customer is being kind, I'll find a way to give them the discount.
