I am a proposal manager for federal consulting company. My base is low (112000) but I make up upto 50-70% of my base income with win bonuses. Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. Received an offer at 300k/year and a Google offer at 200k/year.
I wanted Google since I started the whole interview process, but I am now not sure given the salary difference.

The position at Google is more junior and the team is just being formed, which involves more risk. However, I like the team at the other company.

The difference in salary is really considerable to push me to rethink this. Is it worth it? Can you share your experiences of when you accepted a lower job offer and why?
