I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

Can I apply infosys after 6 months after rejecting their offer ? Should I use a new Email ID?
N.B.
I have rejected the offer due to parental COVID infection on middle of second wave. I need a long leave which may not be possible while serving notice period. Informed and mailed HR with proper documents.HR accepted the same politely.

I’d bank on getting half
I'd stay through at least 1 promotion.
Most do not get the top of the target - top performers make up 10-15% in most years; those are the people who get the top of the bonus range. Expect 10% low performers and no bonus. Which leaves 75-80% of people getting somewhere in the middle (with some getting closer to the top if they're higher in the middle rankings).
It’s pretty skewed
99% -,37%
97% - 29%
80% -25%
40-80% 14%
20-4% 7%

D2 I still don't understand. You're saying 99% of practices get 37% of target bonus? What am I missing here?
OP, no you can't negotiate a higher bonus range. It's specific to your level and career model.
