For those of you that have returned to school in some manner, what are you doing in class? I find it troubling not to work on breathing.

Are you working small ensembles? Modified, limited instrumentation, or flex model pieces?

What are some aspects of a quality band program?

How do you get your flute students to move from count vibrato to a more natural vibrato? (I teach beginner flute class after a day of elementary music and may be moving up to JH next year.)

Band teachers... how do your virtual band classes work? I’ve been doing music theory with students via google classroom and kids constantly ask to play instruments. It seems like a nightmare to have 30 kids with instruments online because of the delay in sound. Help plzzzz

1. 10 seconds of silence until first lightbulbs go off.
2. 30 seconds until a percussionist went in for the “ba-domp-ding” on snare and cymbal.
3. End of class heard one student say “I still don’t get it.”
