After.
Source: I’m 56 and I peaked this year. Honestly - made most money, best relationship with kids, relationship with spouse improved, respected at work, generally a good year Better than anything in my 40s.

Also 48 years and not sure I am nowhere near my peak. So maybe I am a late bloomer?

Intellectually - def peaked after 40
Value add to client - def after 40

Curiosity - def before 40
Recommendation accuracy - def after 40
EQ for other Partners - near zero now

41M and haven’t peaked yet. Keeps getting better every year!

Everyone is different. But I’m 49 and agree with the other comments — for most people, it’s after.

Contemplating getting a Harley Davidson - is this a sign 🤔?

So far, physically in my twenties, productivity in my thirties, judgement in my forties. Hoping EQ is next.

The flaw in the progression is that by the time you have all the tools needed to crush it you’re too risk averse or too close to done to bother ;)

Client delivery peaks before 40. Sales peaks after 40. Many consultants fail to reach the second peak.

When you peak you are UNBEATABLE!!! But you only peak once so make it count.

Peaking so hard right now.

Age is a number. Park when you kill it and everyone knows it!

Way after!!!

Peak at what? Important to always have another mountain.

Physically - way less than 40. IQ - less than 40.
EQ - after 40. All round maturity and wisdom - 50’s.

Peak at what? Number of chronic conditions, definitely before 40) i have 5 already!

Job stuff? Nah, i think it's always different. I clearly see that i still have potential.

Is there any advice for networking into projects when you don’t know many people at the firm yet? I always to help on BD work when I’m on the bench, but it never turns into any billable work. Every time I have talked to a partner/senior manager I was told I don’t have the skill set they’re looking for, but I don’t know how to build up from there. Feeing very lost but I want to improve my approach.

Hi All! I recently started my own Private Equity firm. Searching for any big do’s, dont’s, or hard lessons you learned along the way. Do any veteran entrepreneurs/PE partners or staff members have advice they would like to pass down? I know early on in my consulting career there are many things I wish I could go back and tell myself.

As always, thank you all! 🐟

Hello Fishes,

I joined CG on 27th July, the first project require me to work on documentation not related to my tech(networking) this I said no and went on bench.
The second project/client they tagged asking me to wrok on FTP L1 Monitoring and t-shoot.
Again this is not relevant to my exp(6 years in Network).

How’s your WFH workload, all? This week: Mon: 10 am - 2 am. Tues: 9 am-8 pm. Wed: 10 am-9 pm. Thurs: 10 am - 8 pm. Fri: 9:30 am-8 pm. Sat: 10 am - 7 pm. Sun: noon - 4 pm, then 7 pm - 11 pm.
This ... is ... not ... sustainable! I’m the sole earner and have a kid, so “just quit!” during a pandemic is not it - and “setting boundaries” ain’t easy when I’m always reachable by text/zoom/email. I’m fortunate to have a job, but damn. Working From Home = Working Forever From Everywhere. And it sucks.

I am getting a little impatient with a recruiter who feels like she has been ghosting me. I need to make another decision with a company by tomorrow but have not heard back from this other company since I’ve interviewed last Monday. I updated her on my timeline and she hasn’t emailed me back. I have her number from when she initially called me. Would it be bad to just give her a call?

Interviewed for 2 jobs I am highly interested in. One offered the job already, but the other one hasn’t made a decision yet but should this week. I have until tomorrow to accept the offer but would like to work for the other company if the compensation package is better. Any advice? I don’t want to accept and then have to cancel, but there’s no guarantee the other job will hire me either. 😩

Need some advice: I currently do corp dev and FP&A for a smaller company and just got an offer for about double my salary at a F200 company. The catch is I would no longer be doing corp dev, just FP&A. My goal is eventually to crack into ib, do you think I should take the job and the pay bump or stay at my current role and try to lateral in to ib.
