I feel like it could go either way. On one hand, conservatives are generally more into privatization and use of consultants. On the other hand, DOGE might be seeking to cut consultant costs and MBB and the big4 are expensive.
This would be true if DOGE was actually looking to cut costs in meaningful ways and not just gut social programs.
Public Sector consulting hiring will likely pick up after the initial admin transition shock but hiring tactics have changed. Generalist from MBAs and Public Policy programs aren’t needed as much - I sense we’re going to see a continued trend of firms poaching each others experienced hires, hiring of former public sector officials into mid-senior roles, and a lot of our entry level positions will continue to shift towards seeking technology, computer science, and STEM grads
