Do you guys have a secret signal between you and your coworkers that you use when a difficult customer walks through the door? Today, a customer had an issue with how we didn't have any brown eggs, and she just kept getting more and more aggressive with each employee trying to douse the fire. After today's incident, we might need one, lol.

I worked in a store years ago where high school kids would come in and cause a distraction while some of them stole stuff and ran out the door. The manager had a secret code, he'd make a page on the store's PA system for someone who hadn't worked there in years. If you heard "phone call for Eddie" you were supposed to head for the front doors to block the shoplifters from leaving. We'd get the Eddie code a few times in an average month.

Yep, we sure do. I can give any of them a look, and they know exactly what it means. We definitely have our own language.

I think it's just a look that we all exchanged and we all know what's coming 🤣 Usually someone will walk off before they're dragged into it too!!

We don't need one. I can catch eyes with a couple of employees and just know we're thinking the exact same thing. There are some people who you know the second they walk in are going to be trouble.

I usually signal with my eyes lol

Seems like the look is the consensus here 😂

A parent of one of my students told admin she thinks it's irresponsible that I won't be grading over Christmas break. I let the students know to get any work they need graded in before the break and I'll get it to it during our workdays in January. Apparently that's not fast enough for her 🙄. Is it wrong that I'm sort of pissed off by this? Should I say something?
