Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

I keep a travel-ready bag with duplicates of my essentials... chargers, toiletries, and a few go-to outfits so I’m not scrambling before every trip. It saves time and stress.
I do this too but with just chargers and toiletries! It’s my personal go-bag.
I get to the airport early and try and make time for a meal there or visit a lounge. I'm not rushing to the gate and I can decompress a bit. I find the times I feel the least stressed is when I log off on the plane and don't do work. It's uncomfortable, I get frustrated with the space (or lack thereof) and the bad wifi, and I never get done as much as I want to. I feel much better if I choose to just take a nap, read a book, watch a movie, or at most catch up on reading some presentation notes or something easy.
For packing, my suitcase has everything in it ready to go except my clothes. I always have my own toiletries so my travel experience is pretty consistent, using the same products and I can replicate most of my home routine and habits. For personal travel, if it's a longer trip, I like staying in places where I can do a load of laundry before I come home. I prefer having less to carry around with me on the trip, and I prefer coming home to have less to do, so it's not like an exploded suitcase of dirty laundry.
Could not agree more with pivot away from laptop work during the flight. I now use that time for myself by reading for professional gain or pleasure. And because I’m often too busy to watch movies or series at home, I bring my iPad. Makes the flight go quickly. Avoid early AM or late PM flights to preserve sleep schedule. Arrive rested vs frustrated.
I have packing checklists that I use every time. Same basic list helps me have some semblance of consistency when traveling. I do still consider changes, weather, where I’m going, a lot of walking once I arrive. I try to stick to my normal bedtime routines as much as possible and make sure I have a movie or something downloaded for offline use.
My daughter bought me packing cubes for Christmas and I’m surprised how much it helps me stay organized. I keep a laptop charger, phone charger, and extra set of glasses in my suitcase, so I’m not scrambling to find those when I pack.
I workout on nearly ever trip I take - I make myself get to bed at a reasonable time and I exercise in the morning before work. I feel so much better during the day - and when I get home from my trip.
I always try to get to my destination a little early so I can “unpack” and iron or lay out all my outfits. Makes me feel settled before meetings and dinners start to happen.
Always eat at the airport. Helps the uneasy feeling of hunger.
I agree with the person above who said packing cubes. I bought some and they have been a really big lifesaver. The only thing is I usually end up packing more because I have the space and then my suitcase is overweight so you have to be careful about that.
- packing checklist
- TSA preclear if you travel a lot
- melatonin to help my sleep
- book all car services
