Do you prefer for your Sundays to be relaxing and/or fun, or do you like to log in to set up your work week? I’ve always been the latter, but trying more and more to not work on my weekends.

I was at an agency for 11 years and I spent the majority of that time setting up the workweek on Sundays. It didn't matter if it it was 5 minutes. That action I did on Sundays stole time and mental space away from me.

Don't mistake feeling organized and productive because of tidy inbox. In the end, no one cares about that. They care about what you said in a meeting, how you handled a 1:1 meeting with your employee, or simply taking time to think.

When I left agency and went in-house, I was SHOCKED at how much I had given away of my time to the agency. The weekend time is like powering down your phone - it allows for updates and for you to clear your cache - which makes you run better.

So unless the CEO gets caught on a jumbo screen, I'm not working on the weekend because all that crap can and will wait for Monday morning.

No way am I working Sundays. Weekends are already plenty short, and I'm taking every chance I can to enjoy my time off. Sundays are for brunch, lazy hangs at the park or by the pool, and home cooked meals at my family's house (so that I don't have to cook at all haha)

I tend to stay online late on a Friday so that I can protect my weekend. I'd rather get stuff done so I can fully disconnect Saturday and Sunday. Though I still frequently end up online for a bit on a sunday evening before going to bed to prepare for Monday.

I tend to do the same. Usually I’d rather crank through some things when it’s (mostly) quieter Friday afternoons, set up my to dos for the next week and then feel like I’m free the whole weekend. Of course, if I have a big Monday a.m. presentation or deadline, I find it helpful to do some Sunday prep so I’m not scrambling.

I do a couple of hours first thing on a Sunday, go to a class at the gym then try to have the rest of the day with my family once I get home at 11am.

I always tell myself I'm not going to work on the weekend, and I'm always lying, lol. I do a mixture of work and fun, as well as some life administrative stuff, like laundry and meal prepping. But I also don't like to start Monday feeling like I'm behind.

See I tell myself this frequently too... and then I feel like I just stress the whole weekend knowing I need to do stuff before Monday. Never feel like I actually disconnect.

like

I like a mix of both. I do some light work first thing in the morning to get myself ready for the week - clearing my inbox, light prep for any meetings I have coming up, etc. Then I spend the rest of the day hanging with my family, going to the pool, taking the dogs to the park, and all that fun stuff.
