Funny I feel the same way as you do but life is too short , we should enjoy the hard earned money we receive from our hard work! Please don’t feel guilty .
Pro
I’m glad someone else feels the same way! But yes, life’s too short not to enjoy the rewards of hard work.
Pro
Honestly, I think as long as you are happy and not affecting anyone, your money is to be spent however you can and however you would like to! Shouldn’t ever feel guilty! You work for it! :)
Pro
Exactly! A little comfort here and there can make a big difference. No need for guilt when it’s earned and life is better for it
What’s the point of these sometimes 50+ hour weeks if we can’t enjoy the fruits of it at least a little bit? I make sure I’m still within a budget and not going overboard, but I also don’t want to save and scrimp every penny in life. Did that plenty enough when I was younger and didn’t have the money to do anything.
Pro
Exactly - after all the long hours, it feels only fair to enjoy a bit of the payoff. Sticking to a budget while actually enjoying life seems like the sweet spot.

Lifestyle creep is only bad when you spend all of your increases on more luxuries. If you’re also undertaking savings, I say enjoy your life
Pro
Totally agree - as long as saving is on track, enjoying a bit of lifestyle creep along the way feels completely fair.
Life is definitely too short, lifestyle creep can be dangerous when you get too close to spending all your money but no harm in enjoying what you earn!
Pro
Absolutely — as long as it doesn’t get out of control, enjoying the rewards of hard work should be fine.
Not when it's within reason, and everything you've mentioned sounds very reasonable to me. These things make your life better and more comfortable, and - more importantly - they give you time back! I pay for a cleaner myself and have no problem justifying the investment because it means I get to spend my weekends doing fun stuff with my kids instead of scrubbing floors and cleaning toilets.
Pro
Very true. Spending on things that make life easier and give time back feels completely justified!
Sounds like you feel guilty for doing well. Stop. Volunteer a couple times a month and be a good person. You're creating solid future for yourself. Buy instead of rent, be a stay at home mom when you can. If your friends are judging you for your upgrades, get new friends.
Pro
I like your perspective! If the upgrades make life better and the future more secure, there’s no reason to feel guilty, and get new friends if needed LOL.
