Trusted, of course. We have a new phone system that is basically babysitting us since since they implemented it everyone in my unit has completely mentally checked out and all we do is bitch in our teams chat all day long. None of us have ever done less work. Treat us like babies and that’s what you’ll get.
I think the answer to this one is obvious. The hard part for some people who have direct reports is giving up control and letting people show what they can do, without TOO much guidance.

The automatic response I "trust" of course. But the bigger question is what about the environment has lead to the need for close monitoring... classic case of a culture that needs to evolve.
