Do you usually set a savings goal for the year? And how strict are you with it? I went into this year with a pretty big goal in mind, but after a few unexpected expenses popped up, I’ve had to scale it back, by almost half... I definitely don't feel great about it. Just wondering how others deal when their financial plans get thrown off track.

My savings goals are totally out the window this year. Worst economy I've seen in my adult live (I didn't graduate high school until 2009 so I kind of missed the nightmare of that financial crisis). But this financial crisis is pretty bad too. I need to recommit but feel like I'm still playing catch up.

I hear you. This year has been rough. It’s hard to stick to savings goals when everything feels so uncertain. I’m in the same boat too.

I don't have yearly financial goals, because so many factors that decide whether I reach that goal are out of my control. I stick to a reasonable budget, but unexpected expenses happen and have to be dealt with.

Totally fair, so much can change over the course of a year. I still like setting a goal to give me direction, but I’ve definitely learned to stay flexible when life throws curveballs.

I do, and then by March it's usually out the window. This year's goal has been derailed by my car breaking down and my German shepherd tearing his ACL. $11,000 total between the two 😭

Oof, that’s brutal, I’m so sorry! It’s crazy how fast plans can unravel with just a couple of big expenses. I totally get it, my goal took a hit this year too. Hoping things smooth out for you soon!

I have a loose saving goal for myself, but I try not to stress about it. If I go over, great, if I go under, oh well. The goal is to always be saving.

That’s such a healthy mindset. I love the idea that the real win is just consistently saving, no matter the amount. It takes the pressure off while still moving in the right direction.

Currently I am saving for a house so yes, but when I previously lived away from home I was more saving up for specific things rather than a savings goal in general. Like saving for a big holiday, or a new car.

That makes total sense, Saving with a specific goal in mind can be super motivating. A house is such a big milestone, so it’s great that you’re working toward that now. I’ve done the same in the past - e.g., saving for big trips or one-off purchases felt more tangible than a general goal.

Thoughts on these Bottega shoes. I think they’re beautiful but can’t seem to justify the $880 price tag.

Have been running for the last few years and consistently get “dead feet” feeling after 3-4 miles. Feet go somewhat numb and I stop and stretch to relive the pain. Have tried a few different types of shoes (on cloud / altra / Nike) to no avail. Even tried the loosening of my shoes. Any advice? I’m in good shape and can cycle for 40-60 miles at a time so endurance isn’t the issue, it’s my feet. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions!!!

Someone please tell me that I can get a rear facing child seat in the back of a mustang… otherwise it looks like I’ll have to buy a new family car to drive the little one around (wife doesn’t drive unfortunately).

Could be a good excuse to get a Taycan but was hoping I could just stick with my mustang. We said next car will be an EV didn’t think it would be so soon though!

Is that correct?
Can someone please check their Background screening report and confirm?
I think they use Hireright as their 3rd part agency but not sure.
